About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to join our team at Southland Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering assessments and interventions across various clinical areas as part of an interdisciplinary team. Our structured rotations typically last six months and may include placements in:
- Acute wards (medical, surgical, orthopaedics, paediatrics, critical care, maternity, and emergency department)
- Rehabilitation services
- Community services
- General outpatient programs, including group therapies
For experienced clinicians who prefer to concentrate on specific areas, we are also open to fixed placements. Please note that this role requires participation in weekend and on-call rosters.
The salary for this position ranges from $82,856 to $107,600 per annum (pro-rata), consistent with the Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Collective Agreement, and will be determined based on your experience and qualifications.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A current Annual Practising Certificate with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand (essential)
- A minimum of two years of physiotherapy experience in hospital or community settings, ideally within a health system comparable to New Zealand's
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to healthcare and learning
- Flexibility to consider either rotational or non-rotational positions based on service needs and personal career goals
