About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Network Inspector to join our team in Gisborne. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the 'eyes and ears' of our network. Your responsibilities will include coordinating an effective network inspection regime for new assets, conducting routine inspections to identify and document defects, and monitoring maintenance operations and cyclic patrol teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct road inspections, identify fault defects, and propose suitable solutions.
- Perform field-based data collection and asset inspections, input geographic data into spatial asset management systems such as RAMM, and assist with surveying tasks through map preparation and the use of surveying equipment.
- Identify risks and suggest corrective actions as necessary.
- Support the development of maintenance programs and collaborate with our maintenance team.
- Direct cyclic crews to ensure efficient completion of work and audit completed tasks with a strong focus on quality and safety.
- Ensure project operations achieve high safety performance standards.
- Respond to customer inquiries and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with an organized and systematic approach, along with a proven track record in network inspection and fault identification or treatment selection, ideally within the maintenance roading industry. Key qualifications and skills include:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering is desirable but not essential; at least two years of relevant experience can substitute for formal qualifications.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- A commitment to a philosophy of continual improvement and a high standard of health and safety.
- Self-motivated, energetic, proactive, and results-oriented, with strong problem-solving, planning, listening, and decision-making skills.
