About the Role We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team, where you will work within the community to assist individuals of all ages who are living with physical disabilities and long-term illnesses. Your role will focus on enabling these individuals to engage in their daily occupations. About the Team/Service/Location Our team is known for its friendly and supportive environment, emphasizing both formal and informal supervision, as well as professional development opportunities tailored to meet your learning needs. We utilize the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement to guide our processes and measure patient outcomes. Our approach is evidence-based, and we are committed to quality improvement. In our interdisciplinary setting, we promote independence, health, and well-being for all community members. While we prefer candidates with experience, we are open to considering those with backgrounds in other areas. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn about specific assessments, including wheelchair and seating evaluations, pressure care interventions, cognitive assessments, and housing modifications. About You Successful applicants must be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and hold a current practicing certificate. Additionally, a clean, full driver's license is required, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle being desirable but not essential. We also welcome overseas applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for OT Board registration. We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient, organized, and a strong communicator. You should be motivated, take initiative, and enjoy working with individuals across all age groups and professions. The ability to think on your feet and adapt to a fast-paced environment is essential, along with effective problem-solving skills and a willingness to engage in continuous learning. Strong time management and accountability are also key attributes we seek.
