About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Occupational Therapy team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) on a fixed-term, full-time basis (40 hours per week) until November 1, 2026. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping others and looking to make a meaningful impact.
As an OTA, your responsibilities will include providing therapeutic interventions for patients dealing with various conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, fractures, amputations, strokes, and general frailty. Your work will involve collaboration with both the inpatient team and community services, offering a diverse range of experiences and challenges.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our team is located in Gisborne, a beautiful region on the eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island. Often referred to as 'Tairawhiti,' meaning 'the light shines on the water,' Gisborne is known as the first city in the world to greet the sun each day. The area boasts stunning golden sand beaches, bush-clad mountains, lush farmland, and significant historical landmarks, all enriched by a deep connection to Māori culture.
We enjoy a favorable climate, short commutes, and a relaxed lifestyle, making Gisborne an enviable place to live and work. Our Occupational Therapy team consists of 15 dedicated staff members, including 11 Occupational Therapists, 3 Occupational Therapy Assistants, and 1 store person, all working collaboratively to provide quality services to the people of Tairawhiti.
