As a complex manufacturing organization, we are clinically driven and patient-focused, responsible for the production of blood and blood products, management of extensive tissue banking facilities, and overseeing organ donation nationwide. While we are government-owned, we function with the agility and pace of a commercial entity, complemented by robust governance. About the Role We are seeking a Director of Planning and Supply Chain to join our leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. This influential executive role will provide strategic direction and oversight for our planning and supply chain functions. Your primary objective will be to maximize the efficiency and productivity of the national collection and distribution of blood and blood products. Your responsibilities will include developing planning and supply chain strategies and policies, managing supply chain logistics performance, and overseeing procurement processes, including sourcing decisions for specific categories. Additionally, you will be accountable for property and facilities management, which entails strategic long-range facilities planning and managing the operating and capital budget for various projects. This includes the strategic and operational management of our buildings and facilities, as well as leading negotiations for new constructions and leases. Requirements To succeed in this role, candidates should possess proven executive leadership experience within a complex environment and demonstrate the following qualifications: - Senior-level business management and commercial experience in end-to-end supply chain, preferably within manufacturing settings. - Strong proficiency across all supply chain areas, including standard operating procedures, procurement, inventory, and logistics. - Extensive experience in planning, supplier and contract management, negotiation, strategic procurement, and inventory management. - Proven track record in process and business performance improvement, cost management, supply chain modeling, and change management. - Experience in developing, leading, and managing high-performance teams. - Strong relationship management skills with a history of collaborating effectively with various internal and external stakeholders. - A high level of commercial acumen, an innovative mindset, and a collaborative and engaging approach. The Opportunity This is an exciting moment for a talented and experienced supply chain executive to join NZBS as we embark on a significant growth and change journey. You will have the opportunity to elevate the role and make a meaningful impact on organizational performance while navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with this unique environment.
