National Logistics Manager

As we strive to become the leading provider of plastic building materials in the country, we have established our presence in manufacturing and distribution with facilities in Palmerston North, Christchurch, and Ashburton, while our commercial headquarters is located in Auckland. About the Role We are currently seeking a National Logistics Manager to join our Palmerston North office. This role reports directly to our National Operations Manager and is responsible for overseeing logistics and yard operations at three key locations. You will provide strong leadership and ensure customer-focused delivery services within our supply chain operations. Your responsibilities will include managing inwards goods warehouses and logistics operations, ensuring effective coordination between manufacturing, imports, and yard distribution. Specific responsibilities will include: - Leading and developing the team while driving continuous improvement and implementing best practices within our warehouse and logistics operations. - Championing and leading enhancements to our SAP project. - Overseeing third-party logistics providers, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring that service KPIs are consistently met. - Ensuring compliance with MPI standards for all import activities, including maintaining accurate documentation and regulatory requirements. To excel in this role, you will need: - A minimum of five years of experience in a logistics management role. - An understanding of the operational complexities involved in handling finished goods and imported materials, as well as the processes at various sites and the products supplied by manufacturing. - Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and retention. - Experience in managing freight contracts and logistics processes. - An MPI Certification is advantageous.
