About the Role We are looking for a Team Leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about leading a team towards success. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for motivating, training, and guiding our team members to meet operational expectations. You will work closely with the area manager as part of our senior operational team, contributing to the effective implementation of strategic directives. Our ideal candidate is a skilled leader who can inspire and coach their team, drive sales, and ensure that high-quality stock is processed, priced correctly, and displayed effectively. Key Responsibilities As a Team Leader, you will: - Lead staff and volunteers to foster a collaborative and positive team culture, ensuring a great experience for both customers and donors. - Model and perform tasks across all operational functions of the store, providing training and support to team members. - Ensure that donation processing, pricing, and merchandising meet national standards of practice. - Maintain a well-presented store environment that is comfortable, safe, and enjoyable for staff, customers, and donors. - Conduct regular team meetings to clarify the store's purpose, set performance targets, and provide opportunities for feedback. - Comply with all policies and standard operating procedures, including health and safety and audit requirements. - Complete daily business, financial, and administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have: - A commitment to delivering an outstanding customer and donor experience. - A collaborative and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to support and motivate staff. - Strong communication skills and the energy to drive your team towards achieving goals. - A good understanding of sales budgets and performance metrics, with a desire to meet and exceed targets. - Physical fitness, as the role involves regular lifting. - Proficiency in using retail and communication technology, including point-of-sale software and tablets. - An ethical approach to work, demonstrating respect, honesty, and transparency. - The ability to work within established procedures while exercising sound judgment when needed. - The right to work in New Zealand, with all employment offers contingent upon a satisfactory Ministry of Justice clearance/police check. - Experience in team management. Hours of Work This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Please note that Family Stores operate on some public holidays. The starting salary for this role ranges from $65,824.30 to $67,337.50 per annum.
