    About the Company Allied Petroleum, a subsidiary of the HWR Group of companies, is the sole importer and distributor of Mobil branded products in New Zealand. With a strong focus on technical excellence, we specialize in providing high-quality lubricants for passenger vehicles, commercial operations, and industrial markets. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our operations into Australia, building on our established reputation for excellent customer relationships and service-oriented technical support. About the Role We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team in the Auckland region. This role is pivotal in supporting and expanding our diverse lubricants customer base. You will collaborate closely with our engineering, marketing, and South Island colleagues to achieve our business goals. In this position, you will leverage your expertise in demand forecasting and your recent experience in the lubricants or related markets. A deep understanding of market structures and a network of relevant contacts, including fleet and equipment owners, car dealerships, transport, energy, and construction industries, will be essential. We value solution selling and the ability to effectively communicate the benefits of our products to customers. A hands-on approach is vital, as you will be expected to engage directly with clients to deliver exceptional service. While you will work collaboratively with the Allied Petroleum team, we encourage self-starters who are motivated to operate autonomously within their territory. You will thrive in our fast-paced, progressive culture, where you will have broad authority in account management to proactively manage customer relationships and pursue new business opportunities. Requirements - Proven experience in business development or a similar role within the lubricants or aligned markets. - Strong understanding of market structures and the ability to forecast demand effectively. - Established network of contacts in industries such as transport, energy, construction, and automotive. - Expertise in solution selling and a customer-centric approach. - Willingness to engage in fieldwork to understand customer needs and deliver exceptional service. - Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
