With decades of expertise and a trusted national network, we pride ourselves on our strong reputation. About the Role
We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our small, high-performing team in Christchurch. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a close-knit, supportive environment while benefiting from the stability and resources of a large, established organization. In this role, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on foundation and civil projects that will shape the future of Canterbury's structural landscape.
What You'll Be Doing
In this position, you will be responsible for producing accurate measurements, detailed estimates, and comprehensive cost control for foundation and civil works. You will utilize estimating software, specifically BuildExact, to prepare cost reports and manage variations. Your role will involve supporting the project team with financial insights and recommendations, as well as liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery. We value initiative and leadership qualities, and you will have the opportunity to contribute within our skilled team of three.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should possess a bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or have relevant experience in the field. We require at least three years of Quantity Surveying experience, including work on New Zealand projects. Proven exposure to foundations, concrete, groundworks, or civil packages is essential. You should demonstrate strong technical and commercial skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are necessary to build strong relationships with site teams and suppliers. We are looking for someone with leadership potential who can take ownership and drive outcomes, although direct staff management experience is not required. Familiarity with BuildExact or similar estimating/QS software is also preferred.
Benefits
In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary package that reflects your experience. This is a full-time, office-based role with working hours from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. You will be part of a small, collaborative team backed by a thriving homegrown organization. We provide genuine long-term growth opportunities as the business continues to expand, and we foster a supportive culture where your contributions will be recognized and valued.
