About the Role
We are seeking a Centre Manager who will act as the kaitiaki of our special space. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of kaiako, shaping a learning environment where tamariki thrive. You will receive support from the General Manager of Early Childhood Education and collaborate with other Centre Managers across our seven locations. This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday.
As a natural leader, you will inspire and empower others, fostering a culture where aroha (love), rongo (peace), and hari (joy) are integral to our daily practices. You will bring strong operational leadership skills, overseeing staffing, compliance, financial management, and building strong community and whānau connections. A deep understanding of planning, assessment, and curriculum delivery is essential for this role.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- Full New Zealand teacher registration and a recognized ECE qualification
- Proven leadership and center management experience
- A passion for building strong occupancy and fostering community and whānau connections
- A solid understanding of Ministry of Education (MOE) and Education Review Office (ERO) requirements
- A commitment to Te Tiriti-based practice, Te Reo, and Tikanga Māori, or a willingness to develop in this area
- Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and the ability to plan and assess children’s learning effectively

About Us
Waiapu Kids St George’s operates under Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW), the social services branch of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people, families/whānau, and older adults across the Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua regions.
