About the Company
Mayfield Dairy is a well-established and high-performing dairy farm located just 15 minutes from Ashburton. We operate a 382 effective hectare property, which includes 313 irrigated hectares and 62 hectares of dry ground. Our farm milks 1,020 peak cows using a modern 60-bail rotary system equipped with ACRs, Milkhub, and an in-shed feeding system. We are committed to maintaining a positive and team-oriented work environment, operating on a 6 and 2 roster.
About the Role
We are seeking a Farm Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Mayfield Dairy. In this hands-on role, you will be involved in all aspects of farm management, including people leadership, pasture management, animal health, and compliance. You will work closely with a Business Manager who will support your development in areas such as financial reporting and planning, as well as provide access to Pāmu's network of specialist teams for operational and technical support.
To excel in this role, familiarity with farm management tools like Farmax and FarmIQ is beneficial, as we strive for operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a strong internal drive, a positive attitude, and a collaborative mindset. You should have a passion for dairying and a proven track record in leading, mentoring, and developing farm teams. Key qualifications include:
- Expertise in milk quality, effluent management, and animal health
- A strong commitment to health and safety, as well as animal welfare
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
