About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our team at Tairawhiti Hospital in Gisborne. This is a permanent, full-time position with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing health workforce-related analysis, including the preparation of reports, in-depth analysis, and interpretation of information to support strategic planning, benchmarking, process improvement, contract reporting, and utilization review.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our payroll team operates within the Corporate Department, located at 421 Ormond Road, Gisborne, and reports directly to the Payroll Manager. This team is part of the National Payroll Service. For more information about living and working in Gisborne, please refer to our website.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong understanding of information technology systems, practices, and procedures. You should have hands-on experience with large-scale payroll and HR databases, including installation, testing, and maintenance, as well as implementing upgrades and improvements.
A solid understanding of data security systems and processes is essential. You should be proficient in data extraction and report configuration using various reporting tools, alongside having strong analytical skills demonstrated through experience in systems analysis and design. Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables and formulas), SQL, and other relevant data-extraction and analysis tools is required, along with advanced knowledge of database structure design.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical skills, particularly in working with large data sets, and a proven track record in problem-solving. Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team. We value flexibility, self-management, attention to detail, and the ability to present to medium-sized groups.
