About the Role
We are currently looking for a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This position involves an initial familiarization period during the day, followed by a shift schedule of 12-hour shifts on a 4 on/4 off rotation, alternating between day and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for servicing a variety of heavy earth-moving equipment from multiple OEM suppliers. Each day will present you with new challenges that require a broad skill set, innovative problem-solving, and a flexible approach. You will report directly to the Plant Maintenance Engineer, with primary duties focused on the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles and associated equipment.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who are willing to work shifts, including potential overtime and callouts as necessary. You should possess a high attention to detail and excellent verbal communication skills. A strong technical aptitude, along with effective problem-solving abilities, is essential.
The ability to work well within a small team and with minimal supervision is important. We value a strong commitment to safety, a solid work ethic, and a good sense of humor.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in heavy earth-moving equipment maintenance, with OEM training in Volvo or Caterpillar equipment being highly desirable. Strong automotive electrical skills and a solid background in hydraulic diagnostics are considered favorable. We also welcome tradespersons from mining and quarrying backgrounds, as well as those with relevant skills in similar trades.
