About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our vehicles. Your duties will encompass a variety of tasks, including:
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components
- Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts and reassembling mechanical components
- Referring to service manuals as needed to ensure accurate repairs
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to enhance vehicle performance and compliance with pollution regulations
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts post-repair for optimal performance
- Diagnosing and testing parts using computer assistance
- Inspecting vehicles and issuing roadworthiness certificates, or detailing work required to achieve roadworthiness
- Responding to vehicle breakdown service calls as needed
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should possess:
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience or a NZQF Level 4 certificate in a field related to motor mechanics
- The ability to handle pressure in a work environment
- A keen eye for safety issues
- A clean police record
- The ability to pass a drug test
Other Details
- Work location: Auckland
- Length of employment: Full-time and permanent
- Hourly rate: $30 to $36 per hour
- Hours: 40 hours per week (with a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours)
