Description
About the Company
At MindFull Support, we are a dedicated team of youth support workers driven by our values and a commitment to making a difference. We prioritize the well-being of our team members and ensure that your voice is heard in our collaborative environment. Our approach is grounded in integrity, humor, and genuine care for the youth we support, and we strive to create a workplace free of hierarchy and pretenses.
About the Role
In this role, you will not just be a Youth Support Worker; you will be an integral part of a team that values your contributions and respects your individual working style. We offer a supportive environment where you can thrive. Your schedule will include 48 to 72-hour shifts, which provide you with ample time to rest and recharge. You will receive comprehensive support through counseling, clinical, and cultural supervision as standard practice.
We encourage our team members to share their ideas, which play a crucial role in shaping our future. You will have the autonomy to manage your daily responsibilities with a strong support system behind you. Our culture emphasizes teamwork, reflection, and growth, ensuring that we are continuously evolving together.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience working with youth, particularly in mental health, disability, or high-needs environments.
- A solid understanding of trauma-informed care, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
- Cultural competency that honors Māori and Pasifika rangatahi, whether from lived experience or learned knowledge.
- Strong skills in holding space and establishing boundaries effectively.
- A calm demeanor in crisis situations, with a reflective and collaborative approach to practice.
- A desire to be part of a kaupapa that aims to transform the care system rather than merely maintaining it.
In addition, you will need:
- A full driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (with Warrant of Fitness and registration).
- A Level 3 or higher qualification in youth work or health.
- The legal right to work in Aotearoa.
- Availability for 24-hour shifts, ideally one or two shifts per weekend, and at least one weekend shift every second weekend.
Benefits
We are selective in our hiring process because we believe our team deserves to work alongside individuals who are skilled, solid, and aligned with our values. We receive over 100 applications each month but focus on finding the right fit for our team. If you resonate with our ethos and practices, we encourage you to apply.
If you believe this is the right opportunity for you, please submit your application by 20 April. We welcome an open conversation—no jargon, just real talk.
