    About the Company At Real, we are driven by a spirit of 'loving life.' Our mission is to work collaboratively with young people, referred to as taiohi, to help them realize their aspirations. We provide essential health and wellbeing services that connect taiohi aged 12-24 with local community support systems. Our focus is on helping them develop vital life skills and establish strong connections with schools, employers, whānau, and friends. About the Role We are currently seeking a permanent part-time Youth Worker to join our team in Hamilton. This role involves working 32 hours per week from Friday to Monday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily needs of taiohi and guiding them on their journey toward reaching their full potential, while honoring and celebrating their mana. In this position, you will: - Offer support to young people aged 12-18 in a residential respite setting, with a primary focus on their mental health through a trauma-informed approach. - Assist taiohi in developing independent living skills, setting individual goals, and participating in various activities or outings. - Utilize strong interpersonal skills to work both independently and as part of a wider team. - Attend appointments and advocate for the needs of the taiohi. - Be prepared to engage in a variety of tasks to support the young people we work with, including cooking, cleaning, gardening, and assisting with daily activities. You To be successful in this role, you will need to: - Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent, or be in the process of obtaining one. - Have experience working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care. - Possess effective de-escalation techniques and strong relationship-building skills. - Hold a current full New Zealand driver's license. - Have a current New Zealand first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one. - Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
