About the Role We are currently seeking a casual position with flexible hours based on need to cover shifts at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim. The available shifts run from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday. This position provides an opportunity to learn about hospital operations and can serve as a stepping stone to a variety of career paths within healthcare. In this role, you will play an essential part in ensuring the hospital operates smoothly. Your contributions will help create a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families, as well as a hygienic workspace for our staff. Your responsibilities will include thorough cleaning throughout the wards, operating theatres, public areas, and offices. You will also assist with changing beds, laundry, rubbish collection, and may participate in tea rounds, where you will have the opportunity to interact with patients and support nursing and orderly staff. We offer competitive hourly rates ranging from $27.00 to $29.60, depending on your relevant NZQA qualifications. Additionally, there are penalty rates for evening shifts after 8:00 PM and weekend work, along with extra compensation or time off if you are scheduled to work on public holidays.
