About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join our Regional Cancer Treatment Service at Te Whatu Ora Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral. This is a permanent part-time position, requiring 28 hours of work per week, from Monday to Friday.
In this role, you will provide essential administrative support across our Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Haematology services. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments for systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), radiation treatment, and outpatient clinics. You will also assist in tracking Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT) reporting and warmly welcoming patients and their whanau at the reception.
As a vital contributor to the delivery of high-quality care, your efforts will help ensure the efficient operation of our services, positively impacting the experience of patients and their whanau throughout their cancer care journey. Additionally, you will play an integral role in facilitating effective communication and coordination within our regional network, strengthening relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.

About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven administrative experience, preferably in the health or social services sector
- Strong skills in appointment scheduling and coordination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office and patient management systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy and evolving environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and flexibility
- An understanding of or interest in cancer treatment services is desirable
