About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our Regional Renal Centre, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients receiving various renal services. In this position, you will provide care to patients attending our centre for Incentre dialysis, home training, assisted care units, acute renal dialysis units, and peritoneal dialysis.
Your responsibilities will extend to supporting our renal procedure list conducted in interventional radiology. You will be part of a large, dynamic multidisciplinary team, working together to deliver safe and expert care to renal patients from the Te Manawa Taki region. This role offers the opportunity to be part of one of the largest dialysis units in New Zealand, where you will engage in a wide range of tasks to ensure high-quality patient care.
About the Service
The Regional Renal Service is dedicated to providing both acute and chronic renal services to the Waikato, Lakes, Bay of Plenty, and Tairawhiti regions. Our comprehensive care includes hospital-based dialysis, home therapies for both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, chronic kidney disease management, and renal transplantation. We pride ourselves on being the second largest renal service in New Zealand.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess a Health Care Assistant-related certificate and have experience working in the health system caring for patients. You will need to demonstrate your ability to work effectively within a team, managing a caseload of patients with complex health needs.
Excellent clinical skills and a solid understanding of infection control practices in a clinical setting are essential. We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals who are team players. Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to starting your learning journey in these areas, is highly valued. Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, along with the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare, is also important.
