About the Role
We are currently seeking both full-time and part-time Healthcare Assistants to join our General Surgery ward. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the multi-disciplinary team as we care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures both pre and post-operatively. This includes working with patients in step-down HDU/ICU settings and those with trauma. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, strong prioritization abilities, and effective time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend to patient needs with compassion and diligence
- Assist Registered Nurses with delegated tasks
- Ensure smooth patient flow within the department
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff
- Support the nursing team in delivering high-quality care

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience working in an acute care environment within a New Zealand hospital as a Healthcare Assistant is desirable
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent communication abilities and a solution-focused attitude
- Effective prioritization and problem-solving skills
- A valid New Zealand Work Visa
