About the Role We are seeking motivated physiotherapists to join our dynamic and passionate team within the Physiotherapy Department at Whanganui District. This permanent, full-time position is well-suited for new graduates or early-career physiotherapists looking to establish a strong foundation in physiotherapy practice. It also presents an excellent opportunity for more experienced physiotherapists to expand their skill sets and explore new areas of practice. In this role, you will complete rotations across various departments, gaining experience in inpatient surgical and orthopaedics, medical wards, critical care units, acute stroke units, Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation wards, outpatient services, and community rehabilitation. This broad exposure will allow you to work with a diverse range of conditions at different stages of rehabilitation, all while being supported by an integrative multi-disciplinary team. This role requires close collaboration with other physiotherapists and Allied Health Therapy Assistants, as well as participation in a broader multi-disciplinary team. Strong time management, adaptability, and communication skills are essential for success in this position. Our Physiotherapy department is co-located with Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietitians, Social Work, and the Community Assessment Rehabilitation team. You will benefit from our newly refurbished facilities, which include spacious clinician areas, a large physiotherapy gym, and clinical spaces.
