Important Note when applying:
This position is a casual/reliever role aimed at providing staff coverage. Successful candidates will need reliable transportation to commute to our sKids Papatoetoe locations.
About the Company:
sKids was established in 1996 by two parents who envisioned a structured out-of-school care service for primary-aged children. Today, we are proud to be New Zealand’s preferred destination for children after school, serving over 3,800 tamariki daily across more than 170 school sites. We believe in fostering a fun and engaging environment where we can all connect with our inner child. Our activities range from day trips and cooking to arts and crafts, science, sports, and much more.
About the Role:
As a Casual Programme Assistant, you will supervise and assist children during programme activities. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean, tidy, hygienic, and safe working environment for all children, staff, parents, and visitors. You will assist the Programme Manager in executing the daily schedule as outlined in your task list and report any concerns regarding child behavior or other issues directly to the Programme Manager.
This role requires flexibility as you will work at various sites, including Papatoetoe Central, Holy Cross Papatoetoe, Papatoetoe West, and Papatoetoe South. A reliable vehicle is essential for ease of travel between these locations.
The working hours for this position are primarily on weekdays (Monday to Friday), scheduled around before and after school programmes. The majority of your shifts will be during the after-school schedule, which runs from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. There may be opportunities to work during the before school schedule from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, but only if needed. Additionally, there may be holiday programme shifts available during school breaks.
Requirements:
- Valid visa to work in New Zealand without restrictions
- Reliable transportation, ideally a vehicle, to commute to the listed sites
- A keen interest in working within similar industries
- Previous experience working with children, whether through babysitting or volunteer work
