About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join our team at the Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village in Nelson. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the culinary experience of our residents. In this role, you will work closely with our kitchen team to deliver exceptional meals that reflect our commitment to quality and nutrition. Your responsibilities will include: - Covering for the Senior Lead Chef during their days off. - Preparing a variety of delicious meals from our seasonal menus, ensuring they are rich in flavor and nutritional value. - Catering to the dietary needs of our residents. - Assisting with specialty food preparations for fine dining experiences and special functions. - Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety standards at all times. About You To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes: - A New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 3). - Proven experience as a Commis Chef, with the ability to lead a team and manage kitchen operations. - Previous café experience is preferred. - Outstanding communication skills. - A reliable, friendly, and professional demeanor.
