About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Nelson Hospital. This position offers flexible hours during the afternoon or evening, with shifts determined by business needs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to supplement their income while contributing to a vital service.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Basic food preparation
- Sandwich making
- Providing excellent customer service
- Serving meals
- Stock control
- Assisting with general kitchen duties and cleaning
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong communication skills and a well-presented appearance
- A friendly, outgoing personality and a proactive "can do" attitude
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred, along with a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167 and 168) or a willingness to train for one
- Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for food quality and service
