About the Role
We are currently seeking to expand our warehouse and distribution team at our Christchurch plant located in Islington. We have two openings for experienced Storepersons who are skilled in forklift operation. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work with various configurations, weights, and dimensions.
The role offers two shift patterns:
- Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with some Saturday mornings.
- Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, potentially extending later, with alternating Sundays on a shift pattern from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Please note that the morning shift will involve working in freezer conditions. This is a long-term opportunity for the right candidates, with potential for career progression.
Duties will include:
- Operating the forklift to load racked linehaul units and trucks.
- Utilizing multiple forklifts to move stock around the warehouse.
- Picking and packing orders.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Stacking boxes in preparation for distribution.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A valid forklift license.
- Experience operating a reach truck with double deep capabilities.
- At least one year of experience operating a forklift truck for linehaul purposes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- A thorough approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Physically capable, as some lifting will be required.
- A keen interest in getting involved and learning new skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
