About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our bulk pipelines and fabrication team in a permanent, full-time position based in Pomare, Lower Hutt. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the water industry while supporting our community. If you enjoy an active lifestyle and prefer hands-on work, this position is ideal for you.
In this role, you will be involved in planned maintenance and remedial work on our bulk water pipelines that connect treatment plants, water reservoirs, and natural waterways. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our assets are well maintained and that our environment and waterways are protected from faults. Your responsibilities will include frequent valve and fitting repairs, new installations, and general pipeline maintenance. The role involves outdoor work in unique settings and may require heavy lifting, as well as training in the use of specific hand tools and powered equipment.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will need the following qualifications and attributes:
- A full Class One Driver’s License, as you will occasionally use company vehicles.
- Physical fitness to lift heavy items.
- Competence with basic hand and power tools.
- A keen interest in environmental protection and preserving waterways.
- The ability to learn quickly and work autonomously within a small team.
- Flexibility to work evenings and nights for planned night work as needed.
