About the Company Tradestaff Global is currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Interior Tilers to join our team at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the upcoming summer season. This unique opportunity allows skilled tradespeople to work in one of the most isolated yet breathtaking environments on Earth. About the Role The summer season at McMurdo Station runs from October 2025 to March 2026, with deployments expected around October. Return dates will be confirmed closer to the start of the season. This position is not for the faint-hearted; you will be staying for several months in a remote location, contributing to a large commercial construction project focused on interior fit-out work. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of tiling, such as surface preparation, waterproofing, laying floor and wall tiles, grouting, and ensuring a high-quality finish. Attention to detail and consistency are crucial, as the work involves repetitive tasks. Requirements To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following criteria: - You must be a New Zealand or US citizen, holding a New Zealand or US passport, and currently residing and working in New Zealand. - You must be willing to receive Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations. - A Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence and a clean criminal record are required. - You must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. - You should be prepared for a lengthy application process and be willing to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams. We will cover testing costs and flights if you are traveling from outside the Bay of Plenty. - IT literacy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex paperwork are essential. Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package for this role. The hourly rate is $66.11, with contracts paid fortnightly in NZD for 54 hours per week. We provide flights from any major New Zealand airport, shared accommodation, food, and travel insurance. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be supplied.
