About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Chef or Cook who is ready to advance their career as an Assistant Deli Manager. In this hands-on position, you will play a key role in managing the daily operations of the Deli. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, purchasing, organizing, and leading our team to ensure smooth operations.
In this role, you will oversee staff management, scheduling, cooking, ordering, and presenting our products while maintaining the high standards of our department.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Deli Manager in overseeing daily operations, including stock management, ordering, and food preparation.
- Supervising and leading a team of deli assistants, ensuring excellent customer service while upholding cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Ensuring products are attractively displayed and stock levels are consistently maintained.
- Assisting with the training and development of team members.
- Supporting staff rostering efforts.
Requirements
To thrive in our team, you should ideally possess:
- Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment.
- A genuine passion for customer service.
- Experience with stock merchandising in a retail context.
- Good computer skills.
- Experience in coaching and training staff.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to multitask.
- Flexibility and reliability, along with a strong work ethic.
Hours
This is a fixed-term position for 9 months, covering parental leave. The workdays will be from Sunday to Thursday, with specific hours to be discussed during the interview process.
