About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Service Manager with a technical background in the automotive industry to oversee the daily operations of our workshop. Customer service will be your top priority as you manage a busy service environment. This full-time position is based at our Avalon Branch, located at 45 Percy Cameron Street.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading, motivating, and mentoring a large team of mechanics
- Taking a hands-on approach to assist with workshop operations as needed
- Liaising directly with customers to ensure excellent service delivery
- Managing and overseeing daily workshop operations
- Ensuring all documentation and paperwork are completed accurately and on time
- Actively managing work in progress
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety practices
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need to effectively manage daily job allocations, provide customer support, and oversee a large team of mechanics engaged in various onsite and offsite tasks. The following attributes will be advantageous:
- Relevant industry experience supervising mechanics
- Technical knowledge of products
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to generate and maintain service work to keep the team engaged
- Capability to lead by example and complete necessary administrative tasks
- Collaboration skills to align service goals with overall business objectives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to foster excellent customer service
- Physical fitness, ability to travel, and possession of a full New Zealand driver's license
