    Description

About the Company At Wolfbrook, we are committed to building more than just homes; we are dedicated to creating safer and smarter communities. As one of New Zealand's fastest-growing property groups, we have delivered thousands of properties nationwide and are expanding our focus on health, safety, and quality assurance by bringing these functions entirely in-house. We invite you to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of our organization. About the Role We are currently seeking a hands-on Health and Safety Officer to champion safety across our national construction sites while also supporting the wellbeing of our internal staff. In this role, you will take ownership of defect management and quality assurance, ensuring that Wolfbrook's high standards are consistently met. This position involves a practical and visible approach; you will be actively engaged on-site, fostering trust with contractors and team members, and collaborating with leadership to ensure the safety of our people and the success of our projects. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Conducting Health and Safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks across multiple active construction sites nationwide. - Supporting employee wellbeing, implementing policies, and overseeing inductions and onboarding for internal staff. - Inspecting completed builds to identify defects and ensuring that workmanship aligns with Wolfbrook's standards. - Reporting, investigating, and addressing incidents and risks with a proactive, prevention-first approach. - Building a positive safety culture through training, effective communication, and visible leadership. - Maintaining all documentation, registers, and processes in compliance with New Zealand regulations. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and experience: - 3-5 years of experience in Health and Safety, preferably within the construction or property sectors. - A solid understanding of New Zealand Health and Safety legislation and best practices. - A keen eye for detail, with the ability to quickly identify risks, defects, and quality issues. - Strong communication skills, capable of influencing contractors, site staff, and leadership effectively. - A practical, hands-on, and proactive approach; you should not be just a “clipboard H&S person.” - Relevant Health and Safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH or NZQA Level 4 or above, are preferred. Reporting Lines You will report to the National Construction Manager for external construction health and safety matters and the Head of People & Culture for internal staff health and safety. Benefits At Wolfbrook, we offer a competitive salary along with the following benefits: - Tools of the trade, including a vehicle for site visits, a phone, and a laptop. - A diverse role that encompasses both construction sites and head office support. - The opportunity to take ownership of health and safety and quality assurance within a fast-growing, vertically integrated property group. - A supportive leadership team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Ready to Make Your Mark? If you are seeking a role where you can take charge of health, safety, and quality across both construction sites and corporate environments, we encourage you to apply now. Join us at Wolfbrook and help us set new standards in property development.
