About the Role We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods across various locations in a safe and efficient manner. You will play a crucial part in maintaining our commitment to excellent service and operational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include safely transporting goods to assigned locations while adhering to all local driving regulations. You will also be responsible for loading and unloading cargo, ensuring that all items are handled properly and safely. It will be essential to verify delivery instructions and accurately log all deliveries. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle, and effectively communicate with our logistics team to optimize route efficiency. Routine vehicle checks will also be part of your duties, including reporting any maintenance or repair needs. Qualifications and Skills To qualify for this position, you must possess a full New Zealand driving licence Class 5. Previous experience in a driving role is preferred, especially with bulk cartage of aggregate, snow clearing, or bulk liquid deliveries, but it is not essential. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are vital for success in this role. You should be able to work independently and manage your time effectively. A good geographical knowledge of Christchurch and the surrounding areas, along with basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks, will be beneficial.
