About the Role
We are currently seeking a passionate physiotherapist to join our dynamic acute physiotherapy team at Waikato Hospital. This full-time, fixed-term position offers 40 hours per week with rotational shifts. If you thrive in a busy hospital setting and have a positive, can-do attitude, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will assess patients and design treatment programs to facilitate their recovery. You will also recommend appropriate discharge plans to ensure a smooth transition for patients along the continuum of care, ultimately optimizing hospital flow. This position encompasses all aspects of physiotherapy practice within an academic tertiary hospital setting, located in one of New Zealand's fastest-growing regions.

About the Service
Our physiotherapy service consists of approximately 90 staff members, including physiotherapists, assistants, and administrators, who operate across the vast geographical area of Te Whatu Ora, Waikato. We have team members based at Waikato Hospital, our secondary hospital in Thames, and three rural hospitals in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti, and Taumarunui, as well as community bases in Morrinsville, Matamata, Cambridge, and Ngaruawahia.

About You
We welcome applications from new graduates. To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate the following attributes:
- Current New Zealand physiotherapy registration and APCA
- A passion for learning, adaptability to change, and eagerness to gain clinical experience across various areas
- Evidence-informed assessment and treatment skills
- Excellent time management abilities
- The ability to mentor and train junior clinicians and students
- Willingness to participate in the weekend and on-call roster
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within the physiotherapy and wider multi-disciplinary team across diverse environments
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
