About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our team, providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to individuals as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This role is essential in supporting the management team with the ongoing development and maintenance of the Strengths Model Recovery Approach within our Mental Health and Addiction Service.
This position will be divided between the Adult Community Mental Health and Addiction Service and the Child and Adolescent Service, both located on the Timaru Hospital campus on Queen Street, Timaru.
About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in conducting assessments, including psychometric and neuropsychological evaluations. You will be skilled in developing clinical formulations and providing guidance on effective interventions, as well as establishing methods for evaluating treatment efficacy.
Additionally, you must be registered with the Psychology Board of New Zealand and hold a relevant Annual Practicing Certificate. Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori is essential, or you should be committed to undertaking this learning journey. Experience in projects or initiatives that promote Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, along with the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings, is highly valued.

Salary Range
This position falls under the terms and conditions of the APEX Collective Agreement and will be compensated according to the pay scale, based on relevant experience.
