About the Role
We are excited to offer a Nurse Educator opportunity within our Waitakere Emergency Department. This role involves working 0.9 FTE, which equates to 72 hours per fortnight, primarily across nine shifts that include both AM and PM schedules.
As a Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for on-floor teaching and coaching, providing support to our staff in a hands-on capacity. We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge, and who can employ a variety of innovative approaches to education within the ED.
We seek an expert, Level 4 emergency Registered Nurse or an emergency Nurse Educator with extensive and advanced skills in emergency nursing. A solid understanding of the emergency department environment and the healthcare needs of our West Auckland community is essential. We place significant importance on customer service, optimal patient care, and effective teamwork, and we expect exemplary role modeling from our senior nurses.
You will join a dynamic ED team that serves both adult and pediatric patients. We ensure that you receive mentoring and support as you transition into this role.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse in New Zealand with a current annual practicing certificate (APC)
- At least 5 years of experience in emergency department nursing
- Expert Emergency RN Level 4 or Emergency (Adult) Clinical Nurse Educator
- Extensive knowledge and skills within the emergency department
- Post-graduate nursing papers (in progress)
- Contemporary experience in emergency department nursing
- Experience with both adult and pediatric patients is advantageous
