    About the Company At Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington, we are committed to shaping an innovative narrative for our workforce reporting through insightful data analysis. Our Human Resources Group, known as Pumanawa Tangata, is at the forefront of integrating advanced technology to enhance our HRIS applications and support automation and self-service in our operations. About the Role We are currently seeking an Associate Director for HR Applications, Reporting, and Insights on a permanent, full-time basis. This role requires a seasoned leader in people applications and data who can envision the future and implement effective business systems and workflows. As a member of the Pumanawa Tangata - Human Resources Leadership team, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive a transformative program focused on operational excellence. This is a unique opportunity to strengthen how applications and automation can improve customer outcomes and enhance our employees' experiences. Strategic Leadership and Integration In this role, you will lead the enhancement of the University’s HRIS applications in collaboration with our Finance and Digital Solutions teams. You will be responsible for fostering a high-performing team culture that integrates data from our HRIS and payroll systems to deliver optimal information outcomes. Your work will align with the Pumanawa Tangata Delivery Plan, ensuring timely and visible impacts. You will also need strong project and program management skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading technology changes. Data and Reporting You will design and implement a comprehensive enhancement journey for our HRIS, focusing on modernizing workforce reporting tools and portals. Additionally, you will develop business intelligence tools and dashboards that align with the University’s architecture, providing valuable insights for evidence-based decision-making. It is essential to ensure the accuracy of workforce data and the timely reporting of information, maintaining workflows that reflect real-time business conditions. A culture of innovation and continuous improvement will be vital as we shift towards modern reporting solutions. Team Leadership and Management You will work closely with colleagues to form a dynamic leadership team, delivering results through a unified program of work. Leading your team effectively, you will drive outcomes that we can celebrate together. About You We are looking for a strategic and creative leader with: - Significant experience in senior HR roles involving system and reporting implementation, with success stories and lessons learned to share. - Proven ability to lead teams through change while delivering measurable outcomes. - Deep expertise in transitioning from manual processes to automation and self-service offerings. - Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working alongside senior executives and internal customers to develop effective tools. - A passion for education.
