About the Role We are currently seeking a Motel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our motel. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a maximum of 45 hours. The role is based at our location at 31 Awapuni Road, Awapuni, Gisborne. Key Responsibilities In this position, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including: - Conducting regular inspections of the facilities and ensuring strict adherence to health and safety standards. - Addressing customer complaints and feedback in a professional manner. - Ensuring the smooth operation of all banqueting outlets. - Making certain that the motel complies with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements. - Managing budgets, analyzing financial information, and monitoring sales and profits. - Overseeing the cleaning and maintenance staff, including contractors. - Implementing quality control measures in all guest areas, as well as both back-of-house and front-of-house areas. Requirements To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes: - A minimum of 3 years of experience in the hospitality or tourism industry, along with a related diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. - A physically active lifestyle and the ability to manage tasks effectively. - A positive personality and a can-do attitude that enhances team dynamics. - General knowledge of basic maintenance and upkeep of grounds. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Being well-presented and approachable. - Proficiency in a second language is considered an advantage.
