About the Role
We are currently seeking a Clinical Midwife Manager to join our team at Kaitaia Hospital in the Maternity Unit. This permanent, full-time position involves working 40 hours per week, where you will play a critical leadership role. In this capacity, you will provide clinical expertise and professional guidance, ensuring that our care is safe, culturally responsive, and centered around the needs of women.
As the Clinical Midwife Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating staff, patients, systems, and resources to deliver efficient services. You will also build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams and lead quality improvement initiatives.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our small rural unit offers a supportive environment where midwives provide care to inpatients, conduct assessments, and respond to acute situations as necessary. Midwives work closely with colleagues to ensure comprehensive midwifery support. We are looking for a midwife who upholds high professional standards and integrity, and who is eager to provide exceptional service.

About You
We are looking for a Registered Midwife with strong leadership capabilities, a dedication to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and a passion for delivering outstanding maternity care to the Far North community.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in midwifery practice
- A relevant postgraduate certificate or diploma, or currently pursuing one
- QLP at leadership level
- Proven experience in clinical decision-making, quality improvement, and promoting professional development
