About the Role
We are currently seeking a Receptionist/Administration Support to join our Mental Health and Addictions Services team at Whangarei's Tumanako Inpatient Unit. This is a full-time, fixed-term position covering parental leave until March 2026.
In this role, you will provide client-focused and culturally competent reception services to whaiora and their families. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the administrative needs of our service are met with professionalism and efficiency.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with a supportive team that is committed to creating a recovery-focused environment for both whaiora and their whanau.
About the Team/Service/Location
Tumanako is a purpose-built, 29-bed unit that provides care for adults over the age of 18 living in the Northland area. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to foster a supportive atmosphere dedicated to recovery. We are also committed to continuous quality improvement, staff wellbeing, and inter-service collaboration.

About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A background in administration with proven medical typing abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a clinical environment, with a preference for candidates with a background in Mental Health and/or Addictions
- Strong ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Understanding of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Capacity to engage effectively with Māori and work bi-culturally
You should be dedicated to building effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including whaiora and their whanau.
