About the Role
We are currently seeking a Parks Operator to join our team at Waipā District Council. This full-time position, based in Te Awamutu and surrounding areas, offers an exciting opportunity for someone with gardening skills to start as soon as possible.
In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks including tending to flower beds, planting trees, mowing lawns, raking leaves, trimming bushes, and maintaining cemeteries. While you may have a specific area of expertise, our work program adapts according to the seasons, which fosters a flexible team environment where everyone collaborates to support one another. Our workdays are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about enhancing the beauty of the Waipā District. Our Parks & Reserves team is committed to ensuring that our community spaces are well-kept year-round, and we hope to find team members who share this vision. A good level of physical fitness and a strong commitment to safety and customer service are essential due to the nature of the work.
While previous experience in landscaping or garden maintenance is preferred, we are more than willing to provide training and support to help you develop your skills.
