About the Role
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Plant Engineer to join our team in Hamilton. In this role, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for planning, directing, conducting, and delivering the maintenance engineering function at our production facility.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing effective, hands-on maintenance services to support plant operations and departments.
- Planning, implementing, and conducting maintenance of facilities to ensure an uninterrupted and cost-effective production flow.
- Overseeing and supervising a small maintenance team, offering guidance, support, and assistance.
- Managing the maintenance budget to ensure costs align with the annual expenditure budget.
- Implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance records.
- Actively participating in the rollout of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and associated activities, including Autonomous Maintenance Teams, planned maintenance, and 5S initiatives.
- Managing relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Assisting in the development of process changes to support the manufacturing of new products.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should ideally possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical discipline, either a degree or a trade certificate.
- Several years of experience in a hands-on maintenance role within an industrial setting.
- Mechanical problem-solving skills, with limited electrical qualifications being highly regarded.
- A strong commitment to safety.
- Exceptional planning, administrative, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
