About the Role
We are currently seeking a part-time Mental Healthcare Assistant for our Intellectual Disability Service (IDS) at Wakari Hospital, located high above Dunedin. This permanent position is part-time, with a commitment of 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE), offering a salary range of $59,024 - $74,442 per annum, pro-rata.
The IDS includes three components:
- Ward 10a, a medium secure forensic Intellectual Disability unit
- The step-down Cottage
- The Community Liaison team
As a Mental Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with our Nurses and other healthcare team members. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting patient movement and care as required
- Assisting with stock reconciliation and ward maintenance
- Supervising patients with one-on-one care as necessary
