About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated pharmacist to join our adult mental health team at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim. This part-time position (0.4 FTE, 32 hours per fortnight) involves collaborating closely with medical, allied health, and nursing colleagues to enhance the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical interventions for adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions.
In this role, you will provide clinical advice to clients, prescribers, and clinicians while promoting best practices in pharmaceutical treatment. Your work will directly impact the well-being of community-based mental health service users, and you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess recent experience in community and/or hospital pharmacy and demonstrate a passion for improving the quality of care for mental health service users. Strong communication and networking skills are essential, as is the ability to achieve positive outcomes for both service users and team members.
Candidates must hold current registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand and possess a valid Annual Practising Certificate. A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy is advantageous. This position is suitable for individuals with existing expertise in mental health treatment or those eager to develop their skills in this area. Experience with physical medicines will also be beneficial in providing optimal care for our clients.
Successful applicants will be team-oriented and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment, demonstrating a willingness to learn from others while sharing their own expertise. Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to engage effectively with service users, are vital.
Candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of application.
