About the Role We are currently seeking a casual pharmacist to join our team at Nelson Hospital, with the possibility of covering shifts at Wairau Hospital as needed. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Nelson Marlborough hospital pharmacy service, ensuring safe and effective medication management for both inpatients and outpatients. Your responsibilities will include: - Dispensing and supplying medications in accordance with hospital protocols and national standards. - Providing clinical pharmacy services, including medicines reconciliation and treatment optimization. - Offering professional advice to healthcare teams, patients, and caregivers to promote safe medication use. - Ensuring compliance with regulatory and hospital guidelines related to medication management. - Supporting stock management, including the procurement and safe storage of medicines. - Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. - Working flexibly to cover shifts at Nelson Hospital and Wairau Hospital as required. About the Team/Service/Location The Nelson Hospital Pharmacy Team is comprised of a dedicated group of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and interns who provide safe and effective medication management throughout the hospital, outpatient services, and community healthcare settings. We collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure optimal medication use and improved patient outcomes. About You We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills: - Relevant experience in hospital pharmacy, ideally with a focus on clinical pharmacy. However, we also welcome qualified pharmacists who are passionate about the field. - Registration with the New Zealand Pharmacy Council and an Annual Practicing Certificate, or eligibility for registration. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Attention to detail and a strong commitment to medication safety. - Flexibility to work across Nelson and Wairau as needed.
