About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Class 5 Operator to join our dynamic and skilled team. This role involves operating a Tipping Curtainsider, ideally based in Christchurch, although we are open to applicants from other regions in the South Island depending on workload requirements.
This is a full-time position, with a schedule of five days per week, including rostered weekend shifts. The successful candidate will be a reliable and safety-focused driver who enjoys the open road and is flexible regarding overnight stays away from home. The role will also include interisland work, and hours may vary based on business demands, requiring adaptability to meet operational and seasonal needs.
We expect our drivers to maintain a clean and tidy in-cab presentation and to uphold high standards of safety, maintenance, and vehicle operation that our customers and suppliers have come to expect.
Work Pattern
This is a full-time, permanent role with a regular roster.
- Dayshift: Monday to Friday, with scheduled weekend work
- Average shift length: 10 to 12 hours
What You Bring to the Table
- A valid Class 5 Licence (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of driving experience
- Flexibility and reliability in your work approach
- F and DG endorsements and an OSH Certificate (preferred but not essential)
- Proven experience in tipping operations
- Good geographical knowledge of both the North and South Islands
- Experience with day and night shifts
- An aptitude for learning new technology, showcasing your adaptability
- A passion for teamwork and customer service, along with stories of your favorite moments in the role
- A strong emphasis on safety and taking pride in your work
