    About the Company We are a welcoming cafe located in St Martins, Christchurch, known for our delicious baked goods and commitment to quality. Our team is passionate about providing an exceptional experience to our customers, and we are looking for dedicated individuals to join us in this mission. About the Role We are seeking three dedicated bakery assistants to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position that guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week. Our work schedule includes weekends, so your availability to work on these days is essential. As a bakery assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following tasks: - Assisting in gathering and preparing bakery ingredients such as flour, sugar, and butter for daily production. - Accurately weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes. - Washing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruits, nuts, and other fillings for our pastries and baked goods. - Assisting in cutting, shaping, and preparing dough for various items including bread, rolls, and pastries. - Removing baked goods from ovens and ensuring they cool properly for storage or display. - Cleaning and sanitizing workstations, baking equipment, utensils, and storage areas. - Storing ingredients, tools, and finished products in their designated areas, such as pantries, refrigerators, and display cases. - Monitoring ingredient stock levels and informing the Baker or Supervisor when supplies are running low. - Adhering to food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations at all times. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: - The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following instructions. - Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and handling baking equipment. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety standards. - The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and a reference check from a previous employer.
