About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Operator to join our team in North Canterbury. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, operating, servicing, and upgrading the waste and stormwater network. Your efforts will play a crucial part in minimizing flood and pollution risks in the region by ensuring that our systems operate efficiently. Daily responsibilities will include a variety of maintenance activities, such as operating earthmoving equipment to repair and install drains, pipes, and stabilize riverbanks. You will also conduct regular water and soil sampling to monitor the health of the network. Your input will be instrumental in shaping our water infrastructure planning and strategy for the future from a field perspective. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should have: - Practical experience in civil construction, stormwater, or wastewater - A current Class 2 license with WTR endorsements - Experience in plumbing is ideal but not essential - The ability to perform manual work - Strong analytical skills and comfort with computer systems - Excellent customer service skills - A strong awareness of health and safety practices Benefits This role offers you the opportunity to engage in varied and meaningful work within a stable organization.
