About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer who is passionate about fostering safe, compliant, and positive workplaces. In this crucial role, you will lead our Food Safety, Health & Safety, and price integrity initiatives. Your efforts will ensure that our store not only meets legislative requirements but also sets a benchmark for excellence in the industry.
What You'll Do
In this position, you will be responsible for championing health and safety systems, maintaining their efficiency, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Your tasks will include:
- Overseeing the Food Control Plan and ensuring adherence to FSSI and external standards.
- Training and inspiring staff, merchandisers, and contractors in best safety practices.
- Ensuring price integrity across our store, including Point of Sale updates.
- Keeping accurate records and providing timely updates to managers and owners.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and a supportive work environment.
Your key accountabilities will involve:
- Conducting store audits for Food Safety and Health and Safety, assisting departments in implementing necessary improvements, and ensuring that all audits pass consistently.
- Completing individual and team training as required.
- Assisting with the rollout and implementation of Food and Health Safety programs as prescribed by Foodstuffs, MPI, and other relevant agencies.
- Monitoring the effectiveness and integrity of established food safety systems and ensuring compliance with requirements.
- Upholding and maintaining standards among team members at all times.
This is a full-time, permanent position reporting directly to the People & Capability Manager. The hourly remuneration for this role ranges from $27.00 to $32.00, with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours per week.
Requirements
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, are excellent communicators, and have a proven ability to build relationships across various teams. A proactive approach to compliance and safety is essential.
