About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time, fixed-term Housing Case Worker to cover parental leave until October 31, 2025. This position involves working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at our Rotorua location.
In this role, you will join a skilled team that partners with agencies in housing and health. You will assist individuals with mental illness in achieving housing stability while managing the complexities faced by those with high needs, including intergenerational challenges, mental health issues, addiction, and trauma. We implement a housing-first philosophy and prioritize meeting the outcomes and expectations of our stakeholders and partners.
Requirements
We encourage applications from candidates with diverse experience in the mental health and social sectors, particularly in housing. Ideally, you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent. If you do not currently hold this qualification, you must begin your studies within six months of starting employment with LinkPeople and complete it within two years. We provide significant support for Housing Case Workers to achieve this qualification.
- Familiarity with the social housing assessment and allocation processes established by the Ministry of Social Development.
- A demonstrated commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and experience working with Māori and Pasifika communities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills that enable you to quickly establish credibility. You should also possess solid problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure, complemented by excellent attention to detail and record-keeping proficiency.
- A current full New Zealand driver's license is essential.
