Our focus is on delivering high-quality meals and outstanding service at our location in Bayfair Shopping Centre. About the Role We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, presentation, and serving of all meals to an exceptional standard. You will cook according to specific techniques and steps tailored to each dish, ensuring that meals are prepared in the appropriate quantities based on the menu and the number of persons being served. Your duties will include setting up your workstation with the necessary ingredients and equipment, as well as preparing ingredients prior to cooking, such as cutting meat, preparing batter, and boiling vegetables. You will also be tasked with preparing, cooking, and presenting meals and buffets for staff and special functions as needed. Maintaining our high standards is critical, so you will ensure that routine data is collected, including temperature control during production, preparation, service, and storage. You will manage food inventory by receiving and checking stock, ensuring proper equipment usage, and closely monitoring portion control. Additionally, you will oversee the day-to-day and specialized cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors, and storage areas. We value health, hygiene, and safety, and you will be expected to maintain these standards while catering for functions and events. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements: - A minimum of three years of experience in a relevant position, or a NZQF Certificate Level 4 in a related major or above - Strong communication skills, effective time management, and a commitment to high personal hygiene standards Benefits This is a permanent full-time position, offering a minimum of 30 hours per week. The role is based at our location in Bayfair Shopping Centre, situated at 19 Girven Road, Mount Maunganui. We offer a competitive hourly wage, with a minimum rate starting at $25 and a maximum rate of $31.
