About the Role
We are currently seeking a Domestic Worker/Cleaner for our secure Youth Justice facility, Korowai Manaaki. In this role, you will deliver a high-quality and responsive domestic cleaning service, ensuring that our environment remains safe and conducive to the rehabilitation of young people in our care. Your interactions will play a significant role in creating a positive atmosphere for the rangatahi.
In this position, you will:
- Provide a professional cleaning service across all areas, including restrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen spaces. You will also maintain office and visitor areas to a corporate standard.
- Assist with catering duties for on-site meetings, manage the cleanliness of staff areas, and oversee the stock of toiletries for the young people.
- Contribute to Health and Safety by identifying and reporting hazards, risks, and issues.
- Manage stock control for all cleaning supplies, first aid items, consumables, and linens.
- Ensure the safe and secure management of tools and equipment.
- Maintain appropriate interactions that positively influence the rangatahi in our care.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in commercial cleaning and office maintenance.
- Empathy and understanding towards youth offenders.
- Good communication skills, including basic computer proficiency.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Resilience, flexibility, and reliability, along with a respect for privacy and confidentiality.
- An outcome-focused approach, with the capability to work independently.
- The ability to pass Police Vetting and Background Safety checks (please note that the Clean Slate Act does not apply).
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver's License.
- Valid and current New Zealand working rights.
