    About the Company At Oranga Tamariki, we are dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and supportive environment for rangatahi (young people) who have offended. Our Youth Justice Residences focus not only on maintaining secure facilities but also on rehabilitating young offenders. We firmly believe that every young person in Aotearoa deserves the opportunity to lead their best life, just like their peers. About the Role We are currently seeking a Domestic Worker/Cleaner for our secure Youth Justice facility, Korowai Manaaki. In this role, you will deliver a high-quality and responsive domestic cleaning service, ensuring that our environment remains safe and conducive to the rehabilitation of young people in our care. Your interactions will play a significant role in creating a positive atmosphere for the rangatahi. In this position, you will: - Provide a professional cleaning service across all areas, including restrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen spaces. You will also maintain office and visitor areas to a corporate standard. - Assist with catering duties for on-site meetings, manage the cleanliness of staff areas, and oversee the stock of toiletries for the young people. - Contribute to Health and Safety by identifying and reporting hazards, risks, and issues. - Manage stock control for all cleaning supplies, first aid items, consumables, and linens. - Ensure the safe and secure management of tools and equipment. - Maintain appropriate interactions that positively influence the rangatahi in our care. Requirements To succeed in this role, you will bring: - Experience in commercial cleaning and office maintenance. - Empathy and understanding towards youth offenders. - Good communication skills, including basic computer proficiency. - The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. - Resilience, flexibility, and reliability, along with a respect for privacy and confidentiality. - An outcome-focused approach, with the capability to work independently. - The ability to pass Police Vetting and Background Safety checks (please note that the Clean Slate Act does not apply). - A full, clean New Zealand Driver's License. - Valid and current New Zealand working rights. Benefits As a Casual Domestic Worker/Cleaner, you will receive compensation at a rate of $26.00 per hour, plus 8% holiday pay.
